Pre-War Hampshire Cricketer
So what is the value of a Pre-War Hampshire Cricketer Golly Badge?

Recent Ebay sales suggest around the £600 mark as one went on 24th May 09 for £531 and that particular badge had some pitting to the lettering as well as a largish stress mark just below the waistline.  Still it looked a nice badge and with the H.W. MILLER LTD  B'HAM.18 & REGD APPD back-stamp a nice little badge for someones collection.

This strikes me as a very fair price especially as recent prices have seen a drop in value.

The market seems quite volatile at the moment but one thing that is noticable is that both quality and rare badges are still holding their own where as more common badges (even those that were realising £35 on a regular basis) have dropped in value somewhat .

A point in question is the Baby badge from the 1996 special Edition set, (This badge went for £35 with such regularity that in the whole year of 2008, I only ever seen it go below £28 once! and that was a particularily scruffy badge) yet yesterday 14 June 09 one went for £13 (described as good condition and looked ok)

Still an up and down market, that's for sure!
